Week 3 Highlights 2023
As promised, since we only have one more Tuesday Highlight left, we have moved to highlighting 6 of our favorite songs that have been submitted during the contest.
First up Sarah King from Ripton Vermont sent us some great songs, and here is one almost didn't make the highlight post but it did.
Stuart Stotts is a fine writer and songwriter too based in Deforest WI, and while he wrote this great song he also got some folk legends to sing it:
Vocals by Susan Salidor, Bill Harley, Alina Celeste, Tom Pease, Sally Rogers.
Marty Kohn from Plymouth MI sent us a MP3 of this "Working 11-7 at the 7 Eleven" night shift song, and it just had to be shared because you all need to smile. Does make you wonder if it's autobiographical.
Lauren Oxford from East Tennessee sent us a haunting song deep in traditional Appalachian texture.
Tom Carlson from California had us hooked on what was coming when Jack turned to Jill in the opening line and the melody just softly takes you along for the story.
Alex Toast from Brownsville MN is an artist on the guitar and wrote a special Info-commercial song to explain why marijuana should not be a Schedule 1 drug.
